Ruslan Bortnik is a well-known Ukrainian scientist and political expert, Director of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics (think-tank).

"The best political expert" of Ukraine in 2020 according to the "Celebrity Awards" III-place in the nomination "Political Scientist" twice in 2020 and 2021 according to the Association of Professional Political Consultants of Ukraine.He specializes in the following issues: state-building and parliamentarism; foreign policy of Ukraine; political parties and movements; interethnic and congregational politics; social standards and democratization; public campaigns and protests.Bortnik’s comments are published in Los Angeles Times, Xinhua, TASS, HuffPost, Stratfor, Ukrainian Pravda, Correspondent, Voice of America, etc. As an expert he often appears on the Ukrainian and international TV channels.He is co-author of more than 40 bills of Ukraine, author of many publications in mass-media and 6 books.At the beginning of his career, Ruslan Bortnik worked in the human rights movement, mass media, and was a state employee for 11 years - worked as an adviser to several Ukrainian MPs.

He has an MA in Philosophy and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”.
