Since autumn 2015, MCC has been offering an extracurricular talent programme free of charge for senior secondary school students. The Youth Talent Programme increases children’s appetite for learning, prepares them to pursue further education, helps them in making their career choice and to succeed in life. In the Youth Talent Programme, they learn, among others, to resuscitate, to deal with money, they can try themselves as reporters, familiarize with robotics and may get a glimpse even into futurology. In addition to these, children can participate in awareness-raising sessions such as activities with therapy animals, conflict management trainings or sensitivity meetings showing the life of people with disabilities. The programme is based on digital training materials allowing for studying at home and in-class contact hours every second Saturday with playful activities. In the programme, renown experts and specialist psychologists help the talent development work. MCC maintains a close contact also with the children’s parents organising regular lectures and professional workshops.
Currently, 30 colleagues, 60 instructors and 700 students are involved in the Youth Talent Programme. This programme is available in six Hungarian cities: Kecskemét, Miskolc, Pécs, Szolnok, Veszprém and Budapest, as well as outside Hungary in Berehove and Sfântu Gheorghe, but Youth Talent Centres are soon to be opened also in Debrecen and Székesfehérvár. We do not stop here, though: by 2025, we are planning to involve 3500 students into the Youth Talen Programme in 35 other cities.
