The mission of the Center for Entrepreneurship Research is to connect the worlds of academic inquiry, education, entrepreneurial practice, and policy thinking. We generate and systematize rigorous, evidence-based knowledge grounded in real entrepreneurial experience, helping to illuminate the strategic patterns, developmental pathways, and adaptation logics of Hungarian enterprises.

Our work builds on professional dialogue and our own empirical research. This research foundation combines qualitative fieldwork—interviews, case studies, and comparative analyses—with quantitative data analysis. We always examine entrepreneurial decision-making in context, taking into account historical trajectories as well as the regional and global forces that shape the room for maneuver of firms.

The Center creates a professional community and an intellectual space for those who seek to understand how Hungarian enterprises operate and evolve—through their internal logics, interdependencies, and strategic patterns.

Our core goals:

  • producing rigorous, evidence-based knowledge about Hungarian and Central European firms;
  • nurturing talent through hands-on research experience;
  • fostering collaboration between academia, business, and public discourse;
  • cultivating a reflective, trust-based professional community where experience, understanding, and strategic thinking reinforce one another.
