MCC Visiting Fellowship Program

MCC launched the MCC Visiting Fellowship Program in 2020. In this framework, MCC provides an opportunity for outstanding foreign researchers, professors, and professionals to join MCC by conducting research and teaching for a period between 2 weeks and 6 months (with a possible extension to 12 months).

Who can apply?

We welcome applications from all researchers regardless of academic fields, although preference is given to Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics, Social Sciences, Psychology, Media, History, Philosophy and Environmental Studies.

Prospective fellows can apply in two categories: junior fellows (under the age of 35) and senior fellows (above the age of 35).

What do we offer?

As an MCC fellow you will take part in MCC’s academic, research and teaching activities. You will have the opportunity to write essays and research papers for recognized periodicals or shorter articles for informative websites, blogs, and also to actively get involved in Hungarian public life.

The MCC Visiting Fellowship Program is a fully-funded opportunity with a monthly stipend of up to 5,000 EUR for junior fellows and up to 10,000 EUR for senior fellows. We aim to provide a predictable funding model that is in line with MCC’s family centered approach. The fellowship's financial assistance covers:

  • return flight to and from Budapest
  • health insurance
  • visa costs if applicable
  • a monthly stipend (that includes housing support)
  • office space
  • international conference support

MCC has a family-centered approach, and fellows are eligible for childcare and other family benefits.

How can I apply?

We accept applications on a rolling basis, beginning 1 March 2021. The application can be submitted on the website. Selected candidates will be invited to an oral discussion via Zoom. Please note that it is advised to apply at least 4 months prior to your intended starting date.
