Dr. Gilfillan is a Scottish scholar who graduated from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and received his PhD from Edinburgh University. His academic expertise and research foci are ethnography, social class, Scottish nationalism, sociology of Christianity, sociology of Scotland and pilgrimage.
