Christopher Tollefsen is a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina, where he has been a faculty member since 1997. He earned his Ph.D. from Emory University in 1995. His research focuses on ethics within the framework of the "new" natural law theory, covering foundational ethics, action theory, and practical ethics, including medical ethics and the ethics of life and death. Tollefsen has held fellowships at the James Madison Program at Princeton University and the Eudaimonia Institute at Wake Forest University.
