Erik Kovács graduated with a Master's degree in Geography from the University of West Hungary and later earned his doctorate summa cum laude from the Eötvös Loránd University Doctoral School of Environmental Sciences. His main area of expertise is environmental geosciences, with a focus on climate science and agroclimatology. He has been conducting research on climate change for nearly 12 years. Throughout his career, he has received several awards for his research work, including the National Excellence Scholarship twice, the Eötvös Loránd Student Scholarship, and the Alma Mater Medal. Before joining the Climate Policy Institute team, he worked in the private sector, where he gained valuable insight into market and economic processes. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time in Csörnyeföld, Zala County, as a hobby winemaker whenever possible. He plays squash weekly and actively participates in voluntary environmental work.
