Dr. Marcus Gonschor was born 1983 in Alfeld. He is Vice-Rector of the Hameln GHRS Seminar and Head of the Department of History. He is also a teacher in the school service in Lower Saxony. He is an expert on the history of German-American relations, European integration and transnational party cooperation. His publications deal with Christian democracy and conservatism, European parliamentarism and German-American cooperation between 1945 and 1990. He has recently become particularly well known for his biography “A European Conscience” of the European politician Hans-Gert Pöttering, co-authored with Prof. Dr. Michael Gehler.
