Dr. Michael Borchard, born in 1967 in München) is Head of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Academic Services and the Archive of Christian Democratic Politics, and Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Bundeskanzler-Helmut-Kohl-Stiftung. From December 2003 to May 2014, he headed the KAS Department of Policy and Advice. From July 2014 to September 2017, he moved to Israel as Head of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung office. Borchard specialises in state and society, federalism reform and civil society issues. Borchard also focuses on the life and work of Konrad Adenauer and the German Israeli relations.
