Dr. Viktor Marsai graduated in 2008 from the History and Aesthetics Department of the ELTE University of Technology, and in 2010 he received a second degree in Security and Defence Policy from the Miklós Zrínyi University of National Defence. Since 2008 he has been a fellow of the ELTE Doctoral School of History, and defended his dissertation on Somali state-building in spring 2014. Since 2012, he has been a full-time staff member at the National University of Public Service, first as an assistant professor, then as an adjunct professor in 2016. In the spring of 2017, Marsai was awarded the MTA Bolyai János Research Fellowship.
Viktor Marsai's main research interests are the study of migration processes in Africa and the security policy implications of migration.
