Michael Winzer has been the Head of the Hungary Office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) since 2021. He was born on 29 December 1979 in Lörrach. After completing his studies in economics at the University of Hohenheim and the University of Gothenburg in 2006, he worked as a project assistant at the KAS Regional Office for Central Asia and the South Caucasus, based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. From 2008 to 2013, he worked as a desk officer at KAS headquarters in Berlin and then as deputy head of finance and project management in the European and International Cooperation Department. From 2013 to 2017, he took over the management of the KAS Office Abroad in Bangkok, Thailand. Thereafter he worked as resident representative of the KAS foreign office in Beijing, China up until 2021. Since the same year he is the resident representative of the KAS foreign office in Budapest, Hungary.
