Stefan Luft was born in Hanover in 1961 and is a private lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Bremen. From 1995-1999 he was spokesman for the Senator of the Interior of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, from 1999 to 2004 he was Deputy Speaker of the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and spokesman for various Senate departments. Luft's research and teaching focuses on migration and integration policy. He is primarily concerned with: Migration and integration processes since the Second World War, the Europeanisation of migration policy since the 1990s and the manifold effects of migration on the host society.
