Prof. Dr Ellen Bos has been Head of the Doctoral School since 2011 and Vice-Rector for Research and Young Scientists at the Andrássy University in Budapest since 2017. She was born in Krefeld on 11 March 1960. After a visiting professorship in Berlin, she has been a professor at the Chair of Comparative Politics with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe in the EU at the Andrássy University in Budapest since 2004 and was appointed as a university professor in Hungary in 2005. Within this framework, her academic work focuses, among other things, on the transformation processes and on issues of European integration. Her main research areas in this context are the foundations of democracy, quality of democracy in Central and Eastern Europe and new forms of European governance.
