Aleksandar Nacev was our guest at the latest event in our Lunch Talks series.
The main topic of his presentation was political competition and political warfare. He stressed that while political competition is an essential element of a thriving democracy, political warfare is a method of deploying all the tools at the disposal of political parties with the sole aim of achieving the party's objectives. He also provided a comprehensive overview of the methods of political warfare, ranging from overt and milder means, such as the use of diplomatic and political alliances, to covert actions, such as psychological warfare and the fomenting of hostilities between political opponents. Political warfare was demonstrated to the audience through, among others, the examples of the Watergate affair and the "Colorful Revolution" in Northern Macedonia.
